NOTICE OF ELECTION

CITY OF OILTON,
OKLAHOMA

A RESOLUTION CALLING
FOR AN ELECTION TO ELECT OFFICERS OF SAID CITY

BE IT RESOLVED by the governing body of the City of Oilton, Oklahoma, that for the purpose of electing officers of said City, that a nonpartisan general election, if needed, shall be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the filing period for candidates for electing officers of said City shall begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2021, and close at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the officers of said City to be elected are to be nominated by ward and elected at large for Council members and nominated and elected at large for the City Clerk and Treasurer.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following officers will be elected for four-year terms:

Ward 1 Council member; term expiring in 2025

Ward 2 Council member; term expiring in 2025

Ward 3 Council member; term expiring in 2025

Ward 4 Council member; term expiring in 2025

Treasurer; term expiring in 2025

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following officers will be elected for two-year unexpired terms:

City Clerk; term expiring in 2023

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that each candidate must be a qualified elector by virtue of being a resident and registered voter within the municipality, or in the ward if an office is from a ward, for at least six (6) months prior to filling a declaration of candidacy.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that absentee ballots will be provided in accordance with State Law.  

ADOPTED this 8^TH day of December, 2020, at a regularly scheduled meeting of the City Council of the City of Oilton, in compliance with the Open Meeting Act, 25 O.S. Section 301, et seq.
